AfterI upgraded Windows 7 to Windows 10 in my Samsung laptop, the AC charging stop at 80% and show "plugged in, not charging". Then I downgraded back to Windows 7, problem still exists. I have tried : Shut down ; Remove battery ; Boot up on AC power ; Uninstall the ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery driver ; Shut down ; Reinsert battery
No it's working just fine, the "plugged in, not charging" is a setting that stops the charger from overcharging the battery, to make it last longer, just leave it alone, it will start back up the charging sooner or later. Unless the battery is going lower and lower then that's an indication of a charger port problem. [deleted] • 3 yr. ago.
finallfound the solution to "plugged in not charging". Finally after 4 hrs of research found the solution. 1. go to control pannel. 2. click on power options. side click on 4th or 5th point which says " Choose when to turn off the display". 4. bottom left click on " Change advance power setting".
-> I decided to unplug the charge and use my laptop until the battery drained down a lil and said 80% left.--> Then I left my Laptop switched off for arounf 30 minutes.--> Then I turned on my laptop and reinstalled Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery.--> Then I restarted my laptop once again and Daang!! It was fixed.
Gentlyopen the laptop's lid. Press and hold the power button for one minute to discharge the laptop. Connect the battery cable back to the laptop's motherboard. Clip all sides of the backplate back to the laptop and screw it in. Connect the charger to the laptop and see if it starts charging.
